As the first UK company to offer self-guided hotel-to-hotel hiking tours, Inntravel have always led the way in walking. We started our journey back in 1984 with the dream of changing the way people experience travel. We wanted to connect people with places responsibly – to create enriching and authentic holidays that reveal the best of a destination.

Four decades later and we’re still championing this approach, now through over 300 trips in spectacular locations across Europe and the UK. What makes our holidays unique is that we experience every moment ourselves – we walk the routes, eat at the restaurants, and sleep in the hotels. This allows us to uncover the most tantalising trails, to find the very best places to bed down, and to provide you with exceptional on-call support.

Our knowledge and expertise – together with our commitment to tailor holidays to suit you – makes for high levels of customer service, which has earned us many accolades over the years, as well as various mentions in the national press for being one of the few travel companies to offer swift refunds during the pandemic. Most recently, in December 2023, we were named the only Which? Recommended Provider for self-guided tours.

To guarantee your complete financial security, Inntravel is bonded with the Civil Aviation Authority for holidays by air (ATOL number 2644) and the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (ABTOT member number 5486) for all other holidays.


Committed to the environment
Our love of the regions which feature in our programmes brings with it a wish to benefit them through our holidays. To this end, we almost exclusively use local, family-run hotels and other suppliers so as to support the local economy; we make use of public transport wherever possible; and we also support a range of social and environmental projects.
