Short cycling breaks

A self-guided short cycling break in Europe is a relaxing way to spend a few days away. Equipped with a high-quality bike, as well as carefully compiled route notes and maps, you cycle at your own pace while your luggage is transported.

An Inntravel short cycling break is about more than the cycling. It’s about taking the time along the way to drink in the views, stroll through a medieval village or visit the workshop of a local craftsman. There’s no luggage to weigh you down, and, with no group, it’s you who sets the pace and decides when to pause. You can trust us to hand-pick hotels of character and to provide dependable route notes to guide you there, so relax and enjoy…

How our short cycling breaks are graded

Inntravel’s short cycling breaks are aimed at ‘amateur’ and/or occasional cyclists, with the emphasis firmly on relaxed exploration. Some are easier than others, however, so we grade them to help you choose the break that’s right for you. (Our grading system assumes you are using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, bear in mind that the cycling will be considerably easier.)
  • Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
  • Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
  • Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
  • Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs. (We don't currently have any holidays at this level.)

What to expect from your short cycling break

There are three cornerstones to our short cycling breaks (and, in fact, all Inntravel holidays): beguiling scenery; carefully selected accommodation where you’ll receive a warm welcome; and delicious cuisine showcasing local flavours.
