We understand that recent news around flights and aviation fuel may feel unsettling. If you’re wondering whether now is the right time to book, here’s how it works when you travel with Inntravel – and why you can book with confidence.

As of 1 April 2023, we have moved our financial protection arrangements – for holidays that do not include a flight – from ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) to ABTOT (Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust). ABTOT is a government-approved association that provides financial cover to consumers who book their package holidays with its members.

We have made this change to strengthen our commitment to your financial protection, and it will not affect your booking nor the level of service you receive from us. It simply means that in the unlikely event of our financial failure, your holiday package booking and payments will be protected by ABTOT instead of ABTA.

If you booked your flights with Inntravel
Booking a flight-inclusive holiday with us offers the highest level of protection and peace of mind. Your holiday is covered by:

- The Package Travel Regulations
- The ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) scheme

This means that if Inntravel were to cease trading, you would be entitled to a refund or, if already travelling, assistance to complete your trip or return home.

If your flight is cancelled or disrupted, we will support you in finding suitable alternative arrangements where possible. However, responsibility for flight disruption sits with the airline, in line with passenger rights regulations.

If you arrange your own flights
If you prefer to book your flights independently, your Inntravel holiday on the ground will still go ahead as planned. However:

- Your flights won’t be covered by package holiday protection.
- Responsibility for any flight disruption sits with the airline or your travel insurance provider.

That said, we’ll always do our best to support you. Where possible, we can help you move your holiday to a later date. This would usually be subject to:

- Our standard amendment fee
- Any charges from local suppliers (though many are flexible)

Your complete financial security

We have in place the following financial security arrangements which guarantee your complete financial protection while on holiday with us:

ATOL protection (for holidays that include a flight)

We hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL number 2644). All flights and flight-inclusive holidays* on our website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the scheme will ensure that you are not left stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking.

*Flights booked for non-UK residents that don’t originate or terminate in the UK are not ATOL protected.
ABTOT protection (for holidays that don't include a flight)

If the holiday arrangements you book with us do not include a flight, ATOL protection will not apply to your holiday and you will not receive an ATOL Certificate. Instead, your holiday will be financially protected by ABTOT – the Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (ABTOT member number 5486).

In the event that your holiday cannot be provided as a result of our insolvency, ABTOT will ensure you receive a refund of the monies you have paid to us or, where you are already on holiday and your arrangements include return travel to the UK (other than flights), you are returned to the UK. If you book a flight with us at a different time to the rest of your holiday (where your arrangements did not originally include a flight), your holiday booking will be amended to include the flight and will then be ATOL protected.
