You stay in three high-quality hotels.
In some places, we work with more than one hotel, as shown below. All are hand-picked by us and, unless there is a price implication (in which case we will contact you to discuss your options), we will tell you which one we have booked for you on your booking confirmation. Please note: most beds in Austrian hotels are normally one large base with two mattresses/duvets.
We refer to these as 'Austrian Twins' and they are locally regarded to serve requests for both double and twin bedded rooms. Separate twin beds or traditional double beds with one large mattress are rare and cannot be guaranteed.

This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time stated in the connecting travel section, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. Alternatively, our expert reservations team will be happy to offer advice and to make flight bookings for you for any of the options listed above. We charge £35 per person for our flight booking service. Your flights are then covered by our package-booking conditions, which give you greater protection in the event of delay or cancellation, as well as providing ATOL cover.

Everything was well organised and went smoothly as per itinerary. We had a small problem (night 3) with our room. The hotel had messed up and we ended up being put in staff quarters, or something like. They compensated us by paying for 100 euros worth of our bar bill which we accepted as reasonable. The general standard of hotels and food relative to value was outstanding, as was the service. All the hotel's locations were very good, especially the final stay in Traunkirchen. The routes varied from good to outstanding. Day 1 was our best, Day 2 the worst. A little too much main road cycling for my liking, however there is an obvious trade-off between great routes, destination and elevation, so not real complaints here. The mileage and elevation was perfect for our group. It gave us a chance to really savour the area: we swam, walked (via cable cars), enjoyed the local villages, food and of course drink. Route details were super detailed (although we didn't use them) and it was great to be able to use a gpx file and navigate with no stress. My only genuine complaint would be the bikes themselves. Not particularly hardy and the puncture repair kit was pretty shoddy. We just about got through 3 days with 2 punctures and gears beginning to fail, no way they would have lasted for 7 days. You should offer bike upgrades and an inner tube (which can be paid for if used). The Salzkammergut is one of the most incredible areas in the world. I'm a seasoned traveller and was left thinking why the hell haven't I been here before!! I will be returning, maybe to try the 7 day version. All in all a fantastic experience, thank you for all your help to ensure this.
It is an incredibly beautiful area of Austria and overall a really lovely few days sampling some of the areas in the Salzburg Lake District. The cycling was great and not too difficult as mainly flattish.
