This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time stated in the connecting travel section, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. Alternatively, our expert reservations team will be happy to offer advice and to make flight bookings for you for any of the options listed above. We charge £35 per person for our flight booking service. Your flights are then covered by our package-booking conditions, which give you greater protection in the event of delay or cancellation, as well as providing ATOL cover.

We are keen for as many customers as possible to review their holiday. To make it easier to do so, we include a specific review section on our post-holiday questionnaire, and this is what we publish here, unedited. Read our full review policy >
This was a delightful two-centred break in Salzburg and Berchtesgaden. Salzburg is a delightful City and the hotel is right in the heart of things. The cloistered graveyard off Linzer Gasse was a haven of tranquility and the walk up the Kapuzinerberg was very much worth the climb.
The taxi transfer to Berchtesgaden went like clockwork, taking us to an absolutely stunning part of the world - just 30 minutes away from the city. The views from our balcony were beautiful and the hotel was so well situated that there were abundant walks right out of the hotel.
Our only disappointment was that the Dokumentation Centre attached to Eagles Nest is closed for renovation until autumn. As the actual Eagles Nest is only a café/restaurant, with no education panels from which to learn of its history, we decided that the trip wasn't worth doing.
A definite highlight was to follow signs for Jenner Mittelstation (if you follow Inntravels directions for Eagles Nest you will very soon see signs for this) and catch the cable car to the top. We thought it very expensive but the views from the top were spectacular and there was good food and drink available there too. It compensated well for missing the view from Eagles Nest.
Our other highlight was the Obersee walk (part of walk 2: Königsee walk). Really beautiful!!
We would recommend that you take some treasury tags or a bit of string with you to hold together the pages of the Inntravel pack that you need each day. We didn't want to carry the whole pack with us all the time.
Recommend e-bikes for the most flexibility for the roads away from the Danube.
Upoading routes for both cycling and walking on an app made wayfinding so much easier. Always had back-up paper route notes if needed.
Do try to visit the recommened castles and abbeys en route along the Danube - beautiful gardens and interesting exhibitions.
Austrian coffee and cake became an essential daily ritual!
There are a few spa hotels - do email and book massages or other treatments well in advance with the hotel. Was a nice treat.
The free bus ticket in Bavaria very handy for exploring further afield as we had added extra days.
Vienna exceeded our expectations, a beautiful city. The walking routes proved ideal for making the most of our visit.
