All of the restaurants we used were your recommendations, and all were were excellent, especially Le Torri. We had 3 nights in Turin at the start of the holiday and really enjoyed the city.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: These customers did our self-guided walking holiday 'A Taste of Barolo' in combination with our city add-on in Turin.
Travelling by train all the way from York to Italy was an enjoyable part of our holiday. Views of the Alps were splendid as we wound our way slowly in and out of tunnels between France and Italy, both on our way out and our return. The Grand Hotel Sitea made a perfect base to explore central Turin and we stumbled across delightful piazzas and palazzos. The grandeur and feeling of history was impressive. There was no problem finding really good restaurants and cafes. The highlight were the views from the bell-tower by the Duomo, despite the climb to the top. We grew very fond of Moneglia on the coast. It was charming and quiet and both our hosts and locals were friendly and helpful. April was a lovely time to be there for butterflies, wild flowers and flowering shrubs. The scent of green tea will forever remind me of this holiday. The steep hills were a shock but made every walk an achievement and the views were spectacular.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: This customer journeyed by rail from the UK to do our walking discovery holiday 'The Quiet Side of the Italian Riviera', doing our city add-on in Turin on the way out and our city add-on in Genoa on the way home.
Our recent walking holiday in the Piedmont Magical Valley certainly lived up to our high expectations. This was our 10th Inntravel walking holiday and the high standards of everything from walking routes/food/accommodation/ services provided remains exceptional. The welcome received at each of our accommodations was amazing - although I'd have to single out Allemandi for being our favourite. All the staff were amazing making us feel really at home & very relaxed. Each days walking was superb - from sensational views over mountain passes / admiring the Alpine mormat squirrel / amazing lunch spots to enjoy our wonderful picnics provided. We added on a 2 night city break in Turin & would highly recommend this addition. Turin like many Italian cities offers so much. We loved visiting the Basilica di Santa Maria; enjoying a steak on the hot plate at the Ritual Ristorante Brasiliano, and a rewarding walk following the Don Bosco camino to the Superga. Thanks again Inntravel for all the planning allowing us to soak it all in.
