Overall – this was an excellent first holiday with Inntravel. We were very impressed with all the Inntravel staff we had contact with, both for speed of response and their knowledgeable enthusiasm about Mallorca, and the paces we were visiting. We particularly liked the fact that flights were booked whilst we were on the phone. On Mallorca, we found locals and tourists to be very friendly, and helpful when needed. If you pay for the buses with card, the prices are discounted, we paid cash (euros) on the Airport bus. #
Week in Soller – a lovely base, large enough to head off in different directions to explore. Dduring the day the centre can get busy with cruise day trippers. The centre also got busy on the evening of October 31st – they take Halloween very seriously, and it was fun to see youngsters and families out dressed up, and enjoying themselves. El Guia where we stayed was a very good hotel in an excellent location – close to the centre, but on a quiet street and not very far from the taxi rank and tram stops. Even in early November there was a good selection of places to eat in the evening and the bakeries would make up rolls for picnic lunches. We were impressed with Inntravel’s paper based walk instructions, which we took out as needed in A4 clear plastic pockets – very detailed, and a big plus in that it stopped us staring at a mobile screen (we do have mapping on the mobile and it was useful on occasion). Inntravel provided a good selection of walks. We used a taxi to get to Cuber Reservoir – at the taxi rank there was a list of fixed prices and at 32 euros (plus tip) it was a lot less than we thought it might be. The weather in November was mixed, but generally good – we walked in shorts. The public transport system is good – we used the airport bus and then a local bus for the transfers, but be aware they can get very crowded.
Palma – four night extension – our hotel was large, but friendly and was very well located, and had the big plus of a kettle in the room, which we didn’t expect. We did a mix of sight seeing and using the buses to walk/explore further afield. We used the Mallorca Walk & Eat Sunflower Guide, which we found useful, but not as detailed as Inntravel’s notes. Inntravel’s guided town trail was very good. The queue for the Cathedral wasn’t long, but you could book & pay online and then walk up to the front. Again there were plenty of places to eat out, both at lunchtime and in the evening.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: This customer did our Discovery Walking Holiday 'Citrus Groves & Dramatic Coast' at Hotel El Guia, followed by a city add-on in Palma.
Mallorca did not disappoint. Every walk was more beautiful than the last with the delicious food and wine topping off the end of each rewarding day of hiking. Though the hiking difficulty is rated as a 1-2, I would lean very heavily towards the 2 category as most of the walks were pretty challenging. I highly recommend staying in Palma for a couple of days as well. Lovely city.

This was our first cycling holiday for about 40 years so wanted something gentle to ease ourselves in! The distances were more than manageable and the route maps so easy to read and understand. The accommodation was all perfect with welcome pools to dip in at the end of the day - the weather was unseasonably hot. Great not to have to look for somewhere to eat each evening and the food although rustic was delicious. Antonio our taxi driver was a font of information and recommended 2 vegetarian restaurants in Palma - La Mujer de Verde & 13% - both were a real find! Will definitely be booking with Inntravel again.

Definitely need good walking shoes for a lot of the walks as the paths were cobbled & not even. But what a great variety of walks we did - lots of hills climbed & beautiful views.
Two nearby restaurants to recommend: C'an Toni - long established with a full range of excellent Mallorcan food and Can Frasquet Bistro in Placa del Mercat - modern but excellent Spanish food and friendly staff.
