Everything handled by Inntravel was extremely smooth. We had a number of transitions between bookings arranged by Inntravel and all went off without a hitch. Correspondence was timely despite the time difference and distance. Accommodations were the best. Map options for hiking provided all levels of fitness. GPX worked great. Best value and service. Without exception we enjoyed all the hotels on our holiday and our transportation between areas was comfortable and timely. Always friendly staff and high quality rooms.
Steve, the host at Caddon View, was excellent, as are the dinner and provided breakfasts. Tontine was okay, providing good meals, and hearty breakfasts, although the room was a little dark, and, being over the kitchen, we had the noise of the extraction system outside our room window. Option A Day 1 - Upstream to Lyne - was a good walk, and particularly picturesque, especially around Barns. Traquair House at Innerleithen is worth a visit.
Excellent walks along the river Tweed. Excellent walking on the open moor to Lee Pen and Innerleithen. Be prepared for uprooted trees and path diversions in Glentress Forest.

This package of Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Borders and a taste of Edinburgh (including Fringe Festival and Tattoo) was a varied and memorable holiday.
We had booked both Neidpath Castle and Traquair Castle. Both well worth it but particularly our personal tour of Neidpath by the very informative custodian. The gardens at Kailze are also lovely. We had a group of 4 who had different walking expectations but this holiday was sufficiently flexible that all could be accommodated! The Tweed is a splendid companion.
The little towns were charming, the walks very doable and quite pleasant, and the hotels were both welcoming and pefectly comfortable. We had some trouble understanding how the instructions worked and the maps seemed to us to be in rather small print, covering too large an area; a smaller, more specific map would have helped a lot.
Another fantastic holiday with Inntravel. As always, it was very well organised and provided choices on walks so it is flexible to your level of fitness and experience. Please do be careful if you take the walk over the hills between Peebles and Innerleithen - it is a tough walk and very steep in two places. The Tontine Hotel is superb. I would suggest if you have a choice to upgrade Caddon View, I would recommend that. Thank you Inntravel and we look forward to our next holiday with you.
Walking the banks of the Tweed was a daily delight. The birdlife along the river gave each walk an extra level of interest. Dippers, herons, sandpipers, sandmartins and goosanders became regular sightings - plus the renowned Innerliethen goose!
The staff at the Tontine were excellent in every respect. The highlights were the river and the scenery. We failed to spot any salmon or osprey but herons, goosanders and dippers put in an appearance. Overall, Inntravel, with whom we have been taking overseas holidays for over 25 years, have maintained their high standards. We may well be taking more UK holidays with you in the future.
Walks along the Tweed and seeing wildlife (otter, kingfisher, trout leaping).

Very friendly staff at Caddon View
Magnificent scenery is all around you, and the wildlife along the Tweed valley is a delight. Peebles is a charming town with many small independent shops and galleries. One highlight was the appalled reaction of a goose at the sight of someone swimming up and down "her" pool. She restrained herself admirably but was obviously furious that this human animal had not kept to its proper element and invaded hers!
A beautiful and peaceful part of the country, with friendly and welcoming people. We arrived at Traquair House without pre-booking, and yet the volunteer guide could not have been more helpful and gave us almost our personal tour of the house and then introduced us to the elderly mother of the current Lady of Traquair, who was visiting that day.
I am very grateful to Inntravel for having sorted out this holiday for me at very short notice. A great introduction to a lovely part of the world.
We wanted a three-day walking holiday in the UK and "Scottish Borders" was the only one available for our dates. However we had a lovely time in mid-June with lots of wild flowers in the meadows and pleny of wild-life. Both hotel and guest-house were very welcoming and well selected. The three walks were varied and the right length for us, arriving "home" in time for afternoon tea. We especially liked the The Art Centre (EG) Cafe in Peebles. As usual Inntravel have arranged a great holiday.
Genuine hospitality at both accommodations. Scenic and peaceful. Enjoyed all walks and the visit to Traquair House and its estate.
Highlights? The walk on the first day is an absolute delight, as was our visit to the very welcoming Tracquair House. In terms of accommodation, Steve at Caddon View couldn't have been more welcoming -- he's a great host. Saffron Restaurant in Innerleithen can be highly recommended for evenings when dinner is unavailable at Caddon View.
